Following the success of last year’s event, Creative Health Camden, in collaboration with Community Health Partnerships' Lorna Johnson, recently organised and ran another fabulous Social Shapla garden party in the courtyard at Kentish Town Health Centre.
This year's garden party was a vibrant celebration of culture and community, with over 175 attendees enjoying a variety of activities and delicious food.
Thanks to the support of Camden & Islington Estates Partnership, the event was able to offer a range of engaging activities for all ages. Participants enjoyed coffee cup planting, fan making, badge making, mehndi, face painting, and play activities led by 'Assemble Play.'
The Social Shapla group, an exciting creative project for Bangladeshi women in the Kentish Town and Queens Crescent area, offers arts activities to support women and girls in the community. This year's garden party was another fantastic example of the group's positive impact, provided a welcoming and inclusive space for community members to connect, socialise, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Kentish Town Health Centre courtyard.
Creative Health Camden is a charity committed to fostering community well-being through arts and creativity. They operate within the Kentish Town Health Centre in north London, working in partnership with the James Wigg and Queens Crescent GP practices as part of a social prescribing model.
